School Closure Update 23/03/20

(Posted on 20/03/20)

Action needed: William Brookes School will be open from Monday March 23rd for years seven to eleven but only for the children of key workers or those children who are vulnerable.

The decision you need to make about whether to send your child into school should be based on these two criteria:

  1. Your child cannot be safely cared for at home
  2. Your child is in need of specialist support (you are likely to already have been contacted by phone if this is the case)

If you cannot keep your child safe at home and your work is critical to the COVID-19 response or you work in one of the critical sectors your children will be prioritised for education provision.

Link to government website for more information on this: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-covid-19-maintaining-educational-provision/guidance-for-schools-colleges-and-local-authorities-on-maintaining-educational-provision

This is an emergency scenario and you MUST NOT send your child to school if you do not meet one of the above criteria. We do not have the capacity to supervise all the children of potential key workers.

If you do meet either criteria, please TAKE URGENT ACTION to complete the form via this link, if not, you can ignore this request:
