Work Experience Programme News

(Posted on 12/05/20)

Dear students and parents, due to the current situation nationally we have decided to cancel the Work Experience Programme this year. This means that we do not expect students to attend a work experience placement during the week September 1st to 7th 2020.

We have made this decision for several reasons but mainly because:

  • We cannot at this time guarantee the well being of our students in prospective placements (this may change in the future but at the moment this is the situation that exists)
  • We are unable in the current working climate to fulfil the important Health and Safety checks and appropriate paperwork needed for placements to take take place
  • We are unable to support students to prepare for their placements in our usual way
  • We do not wish to add further pressure to many local employers who are having to deal with exceptional circumstances in getting their businesses and workplaces up and running again

We hope you can understand the logic and reasons behind this decision and will support us in making it.

Those students who remain with us in the Sixth Form will get an opportunity towards the end of year twelve to undertake Work Experience.
