William Brookes School students celebrate another year of excellent results
There were some stunning results in those gained by students at William Brookes School. Greg Jones with seven grade 9’s and three 8’s; Tom Morrison with five grade 9’s, four 8’s and a distinction; Annie Bynoth with four grade 9’s, five 8’s and a 7; Ollie Silgram with three grade 9’s, six 8’s and a 7; Megan Williams and James Martin each with four grade 9’s, four 8’s, one 7 and a 6. Together our best eight students gained 36 grade 9’s and 32 grade 8’s between them.
Progress 8 in the school was also very good with our score of +0.15 showing that students of all abilities achieved beyond their expectation. Katie Sheppard, Jess Baker and Henry Willis gained more than two grades per subject above their national targets.
With 64% of students gaining a grade 4 or better in English and Maths, and 42% grade 5 or better in both, attainment was also strong. 36% of students gained the English Baccalaureate with nearly three quarters of all exam results at grades 9-4, 55% 9-5 with 11% the top grades of 9 and 8. We would like to thank the staff and students for their hard work in obtaining these excellent results at this time of significant change in the national system.
