Joy as students celebrate excellent A Level results

18th August 2016

The hard work has paid off for the talented Sixth Formers at William Brookes School as they are rewarded with an excellent set of A level results.

William Brookes’ students have secured a 97% pass rate with an impressive 42% A*-B grades and 70% of grades at A*-C.

Head of William Brookes School, Geoff Renwick commented: "This has been an outstanding year for our A level students, and I congratulate both them and their dedicated teachers on their academic success. We are extremely proud of their achievements and their contributions to school life, and wish them well in their future careers."

Chair of Governors, Catherine Connery added: "I am thrilled for our students and our fantastic teaching staff. The Sixth Form has long been a valuable part of the life of William Brookes School, and these results will be a great inspiration to our younger students."

Deserving of particular mention are Ben Jones who has won a place at Cambridge University to study Maths with 3 A* and 1 A grade; Dane Brickley with 2 A* and 2 A’s; Izzy Mitchell 1 A* and 2 A’s; Sofia Goldspink 2A* and a B; Ed Denholm with 2A* and a C. Many of our students achieved above their predictions and we are glad to be celebrating their successes with them today.
